The Truth About Captain Tom Moore

A 99 yr old bloke staggering around his garden to save the NHS from the wrecking done to it by the very people now fawning all over him. Sickening. Maybe this war hero can buy a fucking badge from Matt Hancock? To sit next to the medals he accrued defending the country our spineless electorate consistently votes to sell off […]

Boris, Covid and The NHS: The Unvarnished Truth

Boris Johnson. A man who has lived his entire life recklessly, selfishly, irresponsibly; without any regard for the consequences. Because he’s never needed to. His enormous privilege has protected him from any repercussions. He is a proven pathological liar, swaggering through the years with no empathy or concern for anyone but himself. Indeed, recently bragging about shaking hands with Corona […]

Get The Tories Out! Vote Labour! Here’s Why:

This is an appeal from the heart to all those with a vote in tomorrow’s general election. I know many people out there are angry about brexit – not only has UK not left the EU yet, there is a chance we may not leave whoever gets into power – Johnson’s deal, despite his claims, is not all it seems. […]

The Disastrous Brexit Plan You Knew Nothing About

Imagine a Britain, with no NHS (US senators have already said they hope the health service in Britain will be up for grabs in any future deal), ever decreasing job security, ever rising inequality, failing education, transport, policing and other public services. All of this is a new market to be exploited. This is where the EU/US trade deal called TTIP failed. But a post-Brexit trade deal with the US will be as Jean Blaylock from the Independent says, it’s “TTIP on steroids.”

How the Tories are deliberately & consciously breaking-up the NHS

Pictures that emerged last week from the Royal Blackburn hospital that showed mothers and babies being held in corridors for 13 hours and 89 year old Iris Sibley spending more than six months in a hospital bed because a care home place could not be found for her, are the kinds of incidences that are now becoming the norm in […]

Junior doctors are revolting

The fight that the government has picked with junior doctors is just part of the present attack on the NHS and its staff. Cameron and Hunt are using the vague promise of ‘a truly 7 day NHS’ to impose a contract on junior doctors, in the hope and expectation that if they win they will roll out these changes to other NHS staff. They think the public’s interest and support will wane but we must not let this happen.

British Public Being Sold Down the River in Democracy Deception

The longest-running set of polls ever undertaken in the UK, which has been ongoing for over thirty years has been on trust in key professions with Ipsos MORI conducting surveys on the subject since 1983. Their surveys consistently show that public trust in politicians has always been low: at no point since 1983 have more than a quarter of the public ever trusted politicians to tell the truth. The lowest trust score was recorded in 2009 in the wake of the expenses scandal, when only 13% said they trusted politicians. Clearly, there must be a deception going on in our democracy.

Junior doctors’ struggle: “The Tories are vulnerable”

The reality is rapidly dawning on many working within the NHS that the Conservatives’ aim is to demoralise healthcare professionals, demand that these same healthcare workers do more with less funding, and allow the NHS to fall apart, in order to justify opening it up to privatisation.
Now, junior doctors, along with the rest of the labour movement, must support our consultant and nursing colleagues in their own battles, as part of a wider fight against the Tories, against austerity, and for a socialist alternative.

Junior doctors vote to strike

Some 98 percent of junior doctors voted in favour of a strike and 99 percent in favour of action just short of a full strike. Over two-thirds of the workforce (37,700 junior doctors) were balloted and 76 percent of these participated in the ballot.

I’m sorry, I can’t face being a doctor any more

The junior doctor contract is supposed to be “cost neutral” but for someone who works part time, it means I will likely never see my salary improve. It means I could not have afforded to have either of my children. It means the female doctors who look up to me so much, will have to choose children or their careers.

Corporate interests rather than patient care is driving reform in today’s NHS and will divert money away from YOU

This film is radical. With over a dozen NHS insiders as my witnesses, I will tell the alarming story of how the health service as we know it is being quietly abolished. Almost without our noticing, it’s been replaced by a system modelled on the US in which care is delivered by profit-maximising companies that charge patients for treatment which is anyway to be restricted and reduced.
