Climate Change Doesn’t Really Care Who Was Elected

Donald Trump has said climate change is a Chinese hoax. His presidency raises the prospect of a climate denier atop the Environmental Protection Agency and an oil and gas billionaire running the Energy Department. Climate change does not care about the law of the land in the U.S. It cares about the laws of physics. Trump can change laws in the U.S. He can’t change them in the atmosphere.

Cameron fiddles while England drowns

It would appear that the government is not taking climate change seriously enough and therefore are not preparing adequately for it. Perhaps Prime Minister David Cameron is taking his cue from the BBC’s Weather’s Sarah Keith-Lucas who appeared to be unaware that the mild and wet conditions throughout December in the UK are related to climate change.

Beyond Extinction Transition to post-capitalism is inevitable

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from these warning signs is what they tell us about the need not simply for ‘change’, but for fundamental systemic transformation. The science of impending doom does not prove the inevitability of human extinction, but it does prove the inevitability of something else: the extinction of industrial civilisation in its current form.
