I was feeling very guilty having these thoughts that I was unable to work out. I didn’t feel comfortable as I believed the true meaning of Poppy Day was being lost in jingoistic rhetoric. I have even seen war planes decorated with Poppy Logos. Unbelievable! I seem to remember the essence being “never again” whilst all we seem to hear over the last few years is “more war”.
