Am I (as I often suspect) a deranged, bewildered simpleton or is Stephen Sackur really suggesting that we believe what the US and UK security chiefs tell us? He’s an intelligent thinking being, and I shouldn’t be, but I never cease to be amazed at how stupid intelligent people can be – or am I the stupid one? I’ve thought about this and I’ve come to to conclusion that, in this instance, I am not stupid. If history has taught us anything it’s that people in power lie, and the more powerful they are the bigger the lies they tell.
I must pass on a few words of advice to Stephen Sackur. The people who run NSA, the CIA, GCHQ and the rest of those places are not protecting you and me, they’re protecting themselves and their agendas.
