Filming in a public place

How should one deal with the police when filming in a public place? As this independent journalist and cameraman bravely illustrates, remain calm and exercise your rights. Having rights means nothing unless you know how to exercise them.

The policeman filmed here is trying to intimidate and instil fear even resorting to what some might consider assault and yet he doesn’t even know the law.

Sadly, this is pretty typical of the police in the UK - they are nothing more than corporate revenue collection officers who work for a private, for-profit corporation, in this case the Metropolitan Police Service.
